Community, Collaboration, and Fire Awareness at the Glade Park Fire Fair

Recently, the team at Black Mule Forestry had the opportunity to attend the annual fire fair in Glade Park, and we left feeling grateful, encouraged, and even more connected to our local community.
Events like this are an important reminder that wildfire preparedness is truly a community effort. It was great to spend the day meeting local residents, landowners, firefighters, emergency personnel, and other businesses who all share the same goal: protecting homes, properties, forests, and the people who live here.
We especially want to thank the local fire department and all of the supporting agencies and ancillary departments that helped organize the event. The amount of education, planning, and outreach they provide to the public is invaluable. From wildfire preparedness information to defensible space education and practical fire mitigation strategies, there was something useful for everyone who attended.
We also appreciated the opportunity to connect with other professionals in the forestry, fire mitigation, and land management industries. At Black Mule Forestry, we believe collaboration is far more important than competition when it comes to protecting our communities from wildfire risk. There is plenty of work to be done across western Colorado, and strong partnerships between local businesses, contractors, fire departments, and property owners help create safer and healthier landscapes for everyone.
Another big thank you goes out to the fire department for providing lunch and creating such a welcoming atmosphere throughout the event. It was clear how much effort went into making the day both educational and enjoyable for the community.
We’re proud to be part of a region where so many people care deeply about land stewardship, wildfire preparedness, and helping their neighbors. We look forward to continuing to work alongside local agencies, fellow contractors, and community members to support responsible brush clearing, forest health, and fire mitigation efforts throughout the area.
